I made it a personal policy to say yes to everything. If someone plans something and invites me, I check my calendar and if there is no conflict I’m IN. Not a maybe, not a we’ll see, it’s a yes. 2024 was filled with adventures I’ll never forget and 2025 is going to be even better.
What am I going from?
I’m leaving a cold empty house, high food prices, expensive gas and housing. I’m also leaving some amazing friends, proximity to my family, a great community, and lots of sports.
Why? I don’t really know. My 16 year old cat George passed away in November, it was heart wrenching. He was my stability, my constant, he kept me responsible and I loved him for that. He’s gone, so I’m gone.
My work is remote I just need to be in a semi-east coast North American timezone… time shifting, here we come!
What am I going to?
Adventure first, then a walkabout, I guess. First stop is Japan. A few days in Tokyo to explore, out to Nozawa Onsen to snowboard and onsen, few days in Tokyo, north to Hokkaido to snowboard for a week.
I don’t know what to expect. The culture, sights, and sounds all seem amazing. I’ve been going to the same places for a long time it will be fun to go to some new ones.
